David Whelan has been leading information teams and managing libraries for nearly 20 years, focused on access to legal information and practice technology. David received a J.D. from the University of Arkansas-Little Rock Bowen School of Law and his Masters of Library Science from the University of North Texas. He has worked in academic and not-for-profit organizations, including the Law Society of Upper Canada, the Southern Methodist University School of Law and the American Bar Association, where he was director of the Legal Technology Resource Center.
He speaks and writes frequently on topics relating to law, information, and technology. The second edition of his book, Finding and Managing Legal Information on the Internet, was published in April 2012. His book on lawyers and cloud computing, Practice Law in the Cloud, was published by Thomson Reuters Carswell in January 2013.
